Question #3:

Too many players with 'limited ability' at Liverpool FC - but stick with Rafa or time for a change ?

good morning friends and foes.

Whilst I wasn't surprised @ last nights result, or even performance - It was excruciatingly painful and as well as fustrating, watching Rafas men starting XI in action against a struggling Wigan side.

Struggling as they may, full credit to Martinez and his boys for getting the job done and winning the game. They were hardly playing total football against us, but being the diehard avid red that I am - i sat through much of last nights action.

Torres and Gerrard have recieved too much a$$ worshipping and loyalty from the fanbase this season - some players simply are not bringing that extra quality needed to the team, and I am fed up with reading comments from fans saying the former simply can't do everything themselves.

The truth is, Gerrard looks like a shadow of the player he was in 2008/09 and the fact Rafa seems to have no faith in the other forwards at our club to be given nod ahead of an unfit Torres means we are left to watch a disorientated, underfiring out of sorts Liverpool side week in week out.

If Torres is not performing because hes not fit - then introduce him into games late, as a sub.

I know many will say 'you only regain full fitness if you're given 60+ mins regularly' , but i'm afraid Torres just isn't in a side where he can score goals without being fully fit. Which leaves me exhausted with the 1 billion dollar question, why on earth isn't Ryan Babel getting his chance to start in games ?

While I don't doubt that Rafa HAS the ability to get it right, and guide the club to its first time in 20+ years - I do feel that he has only himself to blame for the delay and getting it awfully wrong this season. He is an able bodied manager but surely even he ought to have realised the pressure of the job at Anfield, and that filling the vacated seat of Houllier meant no more illogical transfer signings and tactical mistakes.

In a way I sympathise with Steven Gerrard when during the early part of the season he remarked " this was supposed to be our season where we'd be right up there..."

indirectly hes expressing his dissatisfaction at where the club is going, and of course at the running of the club itself to some degree. His way of letting Rafa know that he got it v.wrong this year.

SAF arrived at Old Trafford in nov 1986 and won the league in 1993.

Rafa arrived in the fall of 2004, and won the Uefa champions league in his first full season in charge followed by the FA Cup 2 seasons later and...and then led the team to a strong title challenge last season.

One would have thought he'd either match that this season or go one better.

Instead its like he completely lost the plot.

I appreciate that this is not the same era as the late 80s and that now it will be doubly hard for a maanger at a club like Pool, to wrestle the EPL crown away from the likes of United,Chelsea and Arsenal and of course with emerging sides Man City, Villa and Spurs means its going to take something SPECIAL from Rafa to end the 20 odd year title droubt.

I just wanted to address this to everyone, including Chelsea, Arsenal and United fans. Its going to take a monumental effort, from the position hes got the club in now - to steer the ship back on course again. Hes doing his best with what resources he has, but i honestly do not feel we have XI players on the pitch who are functioning well collectively.

Too many players in the side looked like they had little next to nothing extra to offer in support of Torres and Gerrard. I've never seen such 1-dimensional boring rubbish players in my feckin life, Lucas and Kuyt spring to mind. Insua simply looks in doubt and uncomfortable playing where he does and he has nerves written all over him.

While I can see the intelligent reasons behind refraining from throwing Aquilini into the deep end - and wants to make sure the lad is quietly and carefully introduced itno the EPL.

You do that with players whom you feel are v.special and need protection. This means that we have to sadly wait till next year, till we see more of him and the best of him.

I'll end with saying we have the most disjointed, dispirited 1-dimensional players I've ever seen at the club in a while - and I feel we have 2 choices, which we go for is up to the fans.

1. Simply put up with Rafa for now and accept the state of affairs hes got us in - until he eventualy puts things right again. After all, Mr.Ferguson won the league in his 7th full season in charge at United during arguably a time when the 'best team in the land' were clearly on the descendency and his club on the ascendency.

2. Too tactical and cagey ? lacking adventure and ideas ? fed up with foreign managers at the club ? time for a change ? Shall we bring in Kevin Keegan ?

all the best - sorry for the long rant

Question #4:

How to drop mile time FAST?

I've been running miles in the 7:38-8:03 time range but I've qualified for an award in physical fitness. I've passed in shuttle rune, pull ups, curl ups and V-stretch. But didn't get the mile time 7:10 which I need. I can re take the mile on Thursday is there anyway I can run that fast so soon? Any tips? What should I aim per lap?

Question #5:

Any quick fix ideas would be much appreciated..indulged too much over the festive season and now paying the price, have started my fitness regime but I fear a few weeks too late...any tricks etc would be much appreciated...thanks.

Question #6:

Should I do cardio before lifting weights or after?

I am going to start going to classes at 24 Hour Fitness (the strength training and weight lifting ones). I just wanted to know if I should do my cardio before the lifting or after?

I want whichever will give me the best results for weight loss (which is my #1 goal and #2 is to gain muscle and tone up). I am very overweight (more than 100 pounds overweight) and out of shape so I will start off easy (elliptical or bike and on days between the lifting calss and cardio I will be swimming laps).

Question #7:

Should the term "working out" be considered lighter fitness?

ok... my 11 year old cousin was chatting on his mac.. and i saw and one of his chat contacts and he said he was working out.. i personally think that they use the term working out to sound all cool and strong. when it makes them sound like a fat guy that has never excersised before.. and he was video chatting with the guy he was skinny as hell and he was anorexic like he had never been fed. i think that 11 year olds are saying this to be cool, instead of excercising, what do you think? it sometimes bothers me to see an 11 year old kid saying thier working out, isnt working out something you say when you lift 100 pound weights or run on the treadmill?

Question #8:

How do I get flats abs without loosing curves?

I like every part of my body except today when I was trying on clothes at the mall, I noticed my abs weren't as good looking as I'd like, and I just got a bikini for spring break. The thing is, I still want to keep my hips, boobs, all that the way it is, but I also just want more muscle tone I guess in my abs?

So what should I do? I have like a month until spring break (about) so just some excersizes would be great. Also, I have no money to spend on it but we have at&t u-verse at my house so I could use the fitness channel or something?

Question #9:

What ROTC team would you guys recommend I join?

I'm going to join my schools' NJROTC program, and I'm having a difficult time deciding the last team I'm going to join. I already chose rifle team, so what would you recommend out of these 5:
Drill Team is a performance team that participates in drill meets, outside organizations and ceremonies.
Color Guard is the most active of all the teams. They perform at every football and basketball home game, and for outside organizations.
The Academic team studies and takes tests which are compared to other units in our area and over the nation.
The Semper Fi team is the physical fitness team. They compete in track events, pushups/curl-ups and other events.
Orienteering Team teaches cadets to navigate in a land area using a compass. They compete in several meets.

Question #10:

Fitness and health tips?

To cut it short, what can I do to become fit and healthy because right now i am borderlining the 'obese' BMI.

I know the basics = "eat healthily, burn more calories than you consume, no fatty foods, lots of exercise". It's all easy to say on paper but for me (and this will be my 4th try) in reality i just can seem to do it.

My parents can't cook these really healthy things 'cause they take lots of time and they get in late so it has to be things that can cook easily. Plus i have school, sitting down most of the day so i'm not really that active. I'm coming to the end of my GCSEs so I have tons of work to do. I would like to be fit before october because by then it will be easier to keep it off rather than work it off.

Before the end of March, I will have a treadmill and a multi gym thing in my house but nothing else apart from an awkward position punch bag.

Anyway what SHOULD I do and what SHOULDN'T I do. Should i have a 'treat day' every so often or not? How will i motivate myself to do it? The exersise isn't so bad, it's the eating habbits, i pretty much eat nothing healthily but on the other hand i don't eat sooooooooo bad...

Btw i'm 15 and 1/2, about 5'6 i'm probably nearer 5'7 now and I way around 145 pounds and i can assure you that is not muscle..

I would like: no fat stomach and nice arms. Thank you!

Question #11:

Why does Obama screech that his bills must be passed immediately or the world will end?

Shouldn't we be having him checked for mental fitness.

Question #12:

How to reduce noise of treadmill for neighbours living below my appartment?

I recently got a fitness club grade treadmill, but was not aware of the noise and vibrations reported by neighbours living in the appartment right below mine.
I moved the treadmill closer to a wall and put carpets underneath.
What practical and reasonable solutions can be suggested to reduce noise from my side ?
I thought of placing the treadmill over a particle board plank over a foam mattress over the floor.
Any tips from sound insulation pros? Sheetrock, full plastic water bottles lined ? Help!!!!
Many thanks in advance,
Boris

Question #14:

What's the easiest and fastest way to get in shape?

To start off, I'm fourteen years old. I'm 5'8" and weigh 132 pounds. I've been gaining a bit of weight lately, mainly because I eat shitty food constantly. I have easy access to a gym, but I have no idea what to use, mainly to flatten my stomach and tone my legs and my butt. What are some healthy lunches and snacks I can eat, too? I'm so clueless when it comes to fitness. Please help me out!

Cheers,
- Claire

Question #15:

Anyone know how to make fully nourishing milkshakes? (getting wisdom teeth out, no solid food for a while)?

Okay, I am getting my wisdom teeth out. Not only am I terrified of this, but I don't even want to bother trying to eat solid food until the holes close up.

I can't find anything on google about nutritious milkshakes, because all it pops up with is "Milkshake diet OMG awesome!!"

So, fitness buffs, do you know any recipes for nutrient-rich, fiber-rich, protein-rich, delicious milkshakes I can make in my time of misery?
I'm vegetarian ... but I don't think any milkshakes require meat ^^
Thanks.

Question #16:

On fitness inline skates, is it okay to hop or jump a little?

I am looking at a youtube video of doing backwards to forwards and the guy does a little hop and turns his feet in the air. He is on aggressive skates though. Should I avoid that if I'm not on those skates?

Question #17:

Cure for abdomen pain?

A few days ago my school did an intense fitness testing session. I am not used to this much physical activity at one time. I did 60 crunches, which is WAY against what my body is used to. For the past day and a half, I have had pain in my abs whenever i stretch upwards, bed down, or turn my body. Is there any way I can make this go away other than rest and a heating pad?
Please help!!

Question #18:

Am I still overweight?

(I know this is the wrong section, but Diet & Fitness = dead.)

Anyway, in 2008 I was 12 years old (female), 5'4, and 182 pounds. Which is obese.
Then I grew, and made a "conscious effort" (or whatever) to lose weight.
So now I'm 14, 5'7, and weigh 148 pounds.
Am I still overweight? All the Internet BMI things are telling me something different, for whatever reason.

Question #19:

Is it bad to not eat protein after lifting weights?

I plan to lift (hard lifting) 3 days per week (Mon, Wed, Fri). I am trying to get into shape and lose some weight (I am going to do cardio 6 days per week....3 days of swimming and 3 days of elliptical). I do not want to get ripped I just want to build up some strength and will be taking classes at 24 hour fitness (Power Sculpt, 24LIFT, Strength Training).

Question #20:

A question about the Marine Physical Fitness Test?

When doing the pull ups and crunches are you allowed to rest at all? (For pull ups that would mean just hanging there and for crunches just lying back for a few seconds then going again).

Also are you allowed to walk at all during the 3 mile run?
